The CRO audit that also ships the fix.

CROW scores any page against the MECLABS conversion heuristic, writes the fixes, and deploys them through one script tag — no developer, no CMS access. It will not write a claim your page cannot support, and it tells you when it needs something from you instead.

No social proof exists anywhere on the page — no customer testimonials, no review count, no logos of companies using CROW, no case study results, no named quotes. For an AI tool asking visitors to trust it with their CRO strategy, this is a trust-destroying omission. Research consistently shows that pages with even one testimonial can meaningfully lift conversion (one commonly-cited study reported +34%; results vary widely).critical
The headline communicates what CROW is ('AI-powered CRO audit') but not what the visitor uniquely gains or how it beats the alternatives (hiring a consultant, running a manual audit, using another tool). There is no differentiated outcome statement above the fold — no quantified time saving, no specificity about what types of issues are found, and no explanation of why an AI audit is better than a human one or a cheaper checklist tool.critical

Both are still open. The first one needs a real customer saying a real thing, and we do not have one yet — so it stays open rather than getting closed with something we made up. That is the same rule CROW applies to your page.

Why this is not another AI page-roaster

Anything can generate a list of suggestions about a page. The question is what stops it inventing them, and what happens after the list. Six answers, all checkable.

It refuses to write copy your page cannot back up

5 of 8 findings, this run

In the 8 September 2026 run above, 5 of 8 findings arrived with a line CROW had drafted and then blocked, because nothing on the page supported it. Here is the most flattering one it could have handed us:

Found 6 critical issues in 4 minutes that our agency had missed — [Name], Head of Growth at [Company]
CROW cannot verify the suggested copy "Found 6 critical issues in 4 minutes that our agency had missed — [Name], Head of Growth at [Company]" — it states a figure that appears nowhere in your page's own text. Replace it with your own confirmed wording before you publish it; CROW will not invent one, and it will not deploy a fix that asserts it.

That is not a prompt asking nicely. It is a server-side gate — every claim-bearing span in a fix has to find support in your page's own words, or the fix is rejected before it can reach your site.

The method has a name and an author

Not an unnamed checklist. Every score is the MECLABS Institute conversion heuristic, run over five dimensions, with the same arithmetic every time.

C = 4M + 3V + 2(I−F) − 2A

Motivation, Value, Incentive, Friction, Anxiety. Credit where it is due — MECLABS Institute's own description of the heuristic.

The same page scores the same way

The score is arithmetic on five ratings, not a number the model picks. Measured on 8 September 2026: one page audited three times scored 51, 51 and 48 out of 100, with four of the five dimensions identical on every run.

Sample: three runs, one page, one day. That is small, and we are not going to round it up into a claim about consistency in general.

When it needs a fact only you have, it asks you

A blocked claim is not a dead end. The finding renders a “paste what you have” form — your rating, your guarantee, your real number — and CROW writes the fix from what you typed, then repeats where it came from inside the fix's own explanation.

The gate is not relaxed to do this. Your words simply join the evidence it is allowed to draw on.

It ships the fix — past a gate

One script tag, and you preview every change on your own page before it goes live. Then a verification gate gets a veto. It rejects a fix that:

  • matches more than one element on the page
  • targets something the visitor cannot see
  • puts text on a background it fails contrast against
  • lands on top of your layout and damages it

Anything live is one click from being undone.

It will not claim a win it cannot prove

Before/after on a deployed fix reads “collecting data” — not a lift, not a percentage — until BOTH sides have at least 7 days and 100 pageviews behind them.

A fix deployed yesterday, or a page with a dozen visitors, gets an honest “not yet”. There is one function that decides this and nothing is allowed around it.

It reads your pages against each other

A site audit takes up to 5 pages together — home, product, collection, cart — and reports what they get wrong about one another.

A promise your home page makes that your product page never keeps is invisible to anything that only ever looks at one page at a time.

Every finding says what it needs from you

A list of 8 suggestions is a list of 8 decisions you now have to make. CROW sorts them by what you would have to do next. This is the 8 September 2026 run of this page, grouped by the same code the product uses:

2Ready to deploy

CROW writes these and ships them through the script tag already on your site. No developer, nothing for you to write.

5Needs your content

CROW won't invent a number, a customer quote or a policy you haven't got. Paste the real thing and it writes and ships the fix.

1Needs a developer

These change the structure of the page, so someone who can edit your theme or template has to build them. Each one says what to build and where it goes.

0Worth testing

Two versions are both reasonable here, so shipping a guess is worse than measuring which one wins. Each one says what to test.

Your site, your control

CROW is built like QA software — every change is reviewable, reversible, and scoped.

Preview before publish

Every generated fix shows a live preview of the page with the change applied — before it ships.

One-click pause or delete

Disable any fix or remove it from your dashboard with one click. Confirmation before delete.

Queue, don't auto-ship

Fixes never apply without your explicit approval. You click Apply fix per issue — nothing happens otherwise.

Scoped to what you approved

CROW only modifies the specific selectors and content you saved. It can't touch anything else on your site.

What it costs

This used to be one sentence inside an FAQ accordion. CROW's audit of this page called that out, so here it is: every limit below is a value the code enforces.

Common questions

Is it really free?

Yes — no credit card and no account needed to audit a page. The free plan runs 3 audits a day and keeps 2 fixes live on 1 site; you only create a free account when you're ready to deploy a fix. Pro is $19 a month for 300 audits a month, PDF reports and up to 50 live fixes across 3 sites.

What data do you collect?

We don't store your page content — it's fetched, analyzed in real-time, and discarded. We do store the URL you submit, along with basic analytics (a session id, referrer and any UTM parameters), so we can show you your past audits and the fixes attached to each page. Your page content is sent to Anthropic's API per their privacy policy.

How is CROW different from Google PageSpeed Insights or Hotjar?

PageSpeed measures technical load speed. Hotjar shows session recordings. CROW analyzes conversion psychology — why visitors aren't taking action — scored against the MECLABS conversion heuristic, an industry-standard framework developed by MECLABS Institute.

Isn't this just ChatGPT with a prompt?

The difference is what it refuses to do, and what happens after the list. Every claim-bearing line in a suggested fix has to find support in words already on your page; the check runs on our server, not in the prompt, and a fix that fails it is rejected rather than shipped. When CROW needs a fact only you have — a real rating, a real guarantee, a real number — it asks you for it instead of inventing one. And once you approve a fix, it deploys to your live site through the script tag, previewed on your own page first, with one-click undo.

How does "Apply fix" work — how can it change my site?

After your audit, click "Apply fix" on any issue. CROW reads your page HTML and generates a precise CSS selector + DOM change (replace text, swap a button color, inject a trust badge, etc.). Install one script tag on your site — CROW fetches your queued fixes from our server and applies them on every page load using standard DOM mutations. It works on any website regardless of CMS or framework.

Does it work on any page?

Any publicly accessible page — landing pages, product pages, homepages, checkout flows. It can't access login-gated or password-protected pages.
